Dollymops and Toffkens. A Ride on the Rails of Victorian England
Chapel of Contemplation and Church of Our Lord Granter of Secrets
The Chapel of Contemplation and Church of Our Lord Granter of Secrets was a Church and Suspected Cult that operated in East London until 1887. The Church was destroyed in a secret raid by Scotland Yard based upon reports of children disappearing from the neighborhood. Three police officers and 17 cult members were killed, along with the arrest of 54 suspected cult members.
Charges were dismissed for all but one cult member, Pastor Michael Thomas. Convicted of five counts of murder, he was sentenced to 40 years imprisonment. He escaped in late 1887 and his whereabouts is unknown.
